TraVinh (VNA) – The Mekong Delta province of Tra Vinh attracted 17 newinvestment projects with total registered capital of 344 billion VND (15.11million USD) in the first two months of 2018, reported the provincial Planningand Investment Department.

Tworural agricultural projects were added, including a 200 billion VND seafoodfeed factory at Tra Vinh city’s Long Duc industrial zone and the Tan Hoaseafood processing plant worth 60 billion VND in Tieu Can district.

Directorof Tra Vinh Planning and Investment Department Do Van Khe said the province hassupported ongoing projects in the locality and addressed businesses’difficulties.

The department will increase monitoring over projects withslow disbursement. It has asked the provincial People’s Committee to revokelicences from businesses that fail to make progress.

TraVinh is home to 233 investment projects. Of the figure, there are 195 domestic projectswith registered capital worth about 100.82 trillion VND (4.43 billion USD) and38 foreign ones worth more than 3.1 billion USD.

In2017, the province drew 60 new projects, with 32 of them now operational. -VNA

Fuel taxes cut to 0% from April 16

Accordingly, the environmental protection tax on petrol (excluding ethanol), diesel, kerosene, mazut, and aviation fuel has been cut to 0 VND per litre. These products are also exempt from VAT declaration and payment, while still eligible for input VAT credit.
