PM demands tightening traffic control to ensure smooth Tet travel

The Hanoi Police have announced temporary traffic bans and restrictions at specific times on January 14, 2026 (from 5:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.) and from January 19 to 25, 2026 (from 6:00 to 8:30 a.m.; 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.; 1:00 to 2:00 p.m.; and 4:00 to 7:00 p.m.) to ensure traffic safety and order during the 14th National Party Congress.

To ensure security, public order and traffic safety for the 14th National Party Congress, to be held from January 19 to 25 at the National Convention Centre in Hanoi’s Tu Liem ward, Hanoi Police have announced traffic diversion and regulation plans on key roads across the capital city.

Traffic accidents drop 25.45% on last day of New Year holiday

A total of 41 traffic accidents were recorded nationwide on the day, leaving 19 people dead and 30 others injured, with estimated property losses of 212.5 million VND (8,079 USD), according to the Ministry of Public Security’s Traffic Police Department.

Government streamlines procedures under Ministry of Public Security

According to Decision No. 1891/QD-TTg, the processing time for issuing certificates of eligibility to provide electronic authentication services will be reduced from 46 days to 31 days. Amendments to such certificates will take 27 days instead of 40, while reissuance will be shortened from 3 days to 2 days.

Transport sector sees positive growth in first four months

The volume of goods transported in the four-month period reached 189 billion tonnes, marking an 11.5% increase year-on-year. This includes substantial growth across various sectors, specifically aviation by 14.5%; road, 15.7%; waterway, 12.1%; seaway, 11%; and railway, 5.5%.
