Travel fair to offer discounts, cheap airline tickets

Hanoi (VNA) - Some 15,000 tours with a 20-30 percent discount and 20,000 cheap airline tickets will be sold at the Vietnam International Travel Mart (VITM 2016).

The fair will take place at the Vietnam Exhibition Fair Center, Hanoi, between April 14 and 17.

Under the theme "Vietnam - The paradise of sea & island tourism," the fair aims to boost interest in domestic, inbound and outbound trips.

The annual fair will also introduce visitors to thousands of tourism products, including those from the sea and island tourist spots.

It is expected to attract enterprises from 25 countries and territories, including the Republic of Korea, Japan, Taiwan, Cambodia and France this year.

Several seminars and conferences focusing on improving tourism services will also be held during the fair.

VITM has been held by the Vietnam Tourism Association in collaboration with the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism and the municipal People's Committee since 2013.

In 2015, it attracted 55,000 participants from 24 countries.-VNA

Search volume for Vietnam’s tourism ranks 7th globally

The top 10 most searched Vietnamese destinations were Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi, Da Nang, Phu Quoc, Nha Trang, Hoi An, Vung Tau, Da Lat, Phan Thiet, and Hue. Notably, Vung Tau and Ninh Binh recorded the highest growth in search volume with over 75%.
