Trump-Kim summit-themed food, drinks offered in Singapore

As the US-Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) summit is coming next week, food and beverage outlets in Singapore are gearing up to mark the event by rolling out themed food and drink with both American and DPRK leaders.

Singapore (VNA) – As the US-Democratic People’sRepublic of Korea (DPRK) summit is coming next week, food and beverage outlets in Singapore are gearing up to mark theevent by rolling out themed food and drink with both American and DPRK leaders.

HarmonyNasi Lemak restaurant in Suntec City offering nasi lemak called TrumpKim-chi. It combines dry-aged beef from the US and kimchi from the DPRK. Thedish is priced at nearly 15 USD.

Royal Plaza hotel offers a menu combining American and DPRK influencesin honour of the historic event.

The grilled Trump-Kim burger is made up of a minced chicken,seaweed and kimchi patty, served with Korean rice rolls and fries.

The Summit Iced Tea is specially concocted by infusing Koreanhoney yuzu into traditional iced tea - which is said to have originated inAmerica.

The burger is priced at 12 SGD (9 USD), and the drink at 6SGD to mark the date of the summit.

Mexican restaurant and bar Lucha Loco has come up with a"Loco Taco Summit" with its two seasonal tacos, El Trumpo and RocketMan at 10 SGD each.

Gastropub Escobar has launched two cocktails in line with thesummit. The "Trump" is a blue, bourbon-basedcocktail while the "Kim" is a red cocktail with soju.

The Singapore Mint has revealed it will launch commemorativemedallions carrying the inscription "World Peace" ahead ofthe highly anticipated summit.

Thefront of the medallion features a handshake between the two leaders andthe national flags of both countries.

Thesummit date and text "Summit in Singapore" are also minted atthe top of the medallion.-VNA
