DaNang (VNA) – The Da Nang Lung Hospital has successfully treated twoCOVID-19 patients who also suffered from other severe diseases.

OnAugust 16 morning, patient 615 was discharged from the hospital and sentto a quarantine facility in line with regulations.

Thoughbeing given the all-clear from coronavirus SARS-CoV-2, patient 582 still stays at thehospital for further treatment of other diseases.

Doctor TranThanh Linh, deputy head of the Cho Ray Hospital’s Emergency Department who directly treated the patient,affirmed that the success is the result of joint efforts by medical staff andthey are determined to save patients from severe underlying health conditions as more aspossible.

Doctor Ngo Thi Kim Yen, Directorof the Da Nang municipal Health Department, said it was the utmostefforts by the health sector and invaluable contributions by medical staff from ChoRay and Bach Mai hospitals with a determination to drive back the COVID-19 pandemicas soon as possible./.

The hospital announced on May 19 that the patient, a 12-year-old boy, recovered well after surgery, remained fully conscious and showed no new focal neurological deficits. Post-operative imaging indicated that the tumour had been almost completely removed. Vietnam moves toward universal free annual health checkups from 2026

Every Vietnamese citizen from 2026 onward will be entitled to at least one free annual medical checkup or screening. Each individual will also have a digital health record integrated into the national digital identification platform VNeID, enabling authorities and healthcare providers to manage health data in a synchronised and continuous manner.
