Moscow (VNA) - Ukrainian Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Yevheniy Yenin spoke highly of the friendship and cooperation of his country and Vietnam in both bilateral and multilateral aspects while receiving a copy of the letter of credentials from Vietnamese Ambassador to Ukraine Nguyen Hong Thach on December 16.
Welcoming the newly-accredited ambassador, Yenin said he would cooperate closely with Thach to further develop bilateral relations.
He emphasised several initiatives from Ukraine to set up closer relations with ASEAN, and proposed Vietnam continue supporting and working with the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry to speed up the implementation of these initiatives.
Yenin took the occasion to thank Vietnamese organisations, businesses, and individuals for their assistance to Ukraine’s fight against COVID-19.
The ambassador pledged to coordinate with the Foreign Ministry and offices and enterprises of Ukraine to intensify the relations between the two nations.
Stressing the important role of the Vietnamese community in Ukraine in regard to bilateral ties, he suggested the Ukrainian Government create more favourable conditions for them to stabilise their lives and contribute more to Ukraine’s socio-economic development as well as bilateral relations./.
