On September 15, local authorities in the village held a meeting to seek public feedback on the construction of a new resettlement area.
Residents largely supported the proposed plan, requesting that the new houses incorporate traditional Tay ethnic architecture, while being constructed with reinforced concrete to ensure durability.
The nearly 9-hectare resettlement area will provide homes for 35 households, funded through community contributions.
Luong Van Son’s family was among eight households that donated land to support those displaced by recent floods.
To ensure that affected families have immediate shelter, Bao Yen district began constructing temporary homes on September 14. These homes, measuring 30-40 square meters each, will be equipped with essential utilities, including electricity and water.
The district plans to complete this temporary housing project within 5-7 days.
The village was swept away by flooding and landslides triggered by Typhoon Yagi a few days ago, leaving 95 people in 37 households dead or missing./.
