Amway Vietnam Co. Ltd., a multi-level marketing enterprise, started construction of its second factory in Vietnam in the southern province of Binh Duong on March 21.
The factory, producing vitamins, supplements, functional food and body care products, is being built at a cost of 25 million USD.
It covers nearly 55,000 square metres in the Vietnam-Singapore Industrial Park No.2, seven times bigger than the space in its first factory.
When operational in 2015, the factory will turn out 23 million products worth 200 million USD a year.
Doug Devos, President of the Amway Company, said that it has grown and enjoyed constant growth since starting its business in the country in 2008. Therefore, the company decided to expand its investment by building a second factory.
The first factory, built in Binh Duong’s neighbouring province of Dong Nai in 2007, stretches over 8,000 square metres and produces 30 million USD worth of products a year.-VNA
