Assistant Secretary of State for East Asian and Pacific Affairs Daniel Russel will travel to Myanmar to attend a series of meetings of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) from June 7-9, the US State Department announced on June 5.
The meetings include the ASEAN Senior Officials’ Meetings for the East Asia Summit, the ASEAN Regional Forum (ARF), the Lower Mekong Initiative (LMI), and the Friends of the Lower Mekong (FLM).
Assistant Secretary Russel will also join officials from Japan and Australia for a meeting as part of their Trilateral Strategic Dialogue.
On June 10, Assistant Secretary Russel will co-chair the US–ASEAN Dialogue and hold bilateral meetings with counterparts on a range of issues.-VNA
