Vatican representative visits Thua Thien-Hue

At his meeting with the Vatican representative, Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Ngo Hoa affirmed relations between the Hue archdiocese and the local authorities and highly valued active contributions made by religious dignitaries and followers of the Hue archdiocese.

Hoa expressed his wish that Archbishop Leopoldo Gielli would always pay attention, follow, support and make contributions to the development of the Catholic Church in Hue as well as the socio-economic development of the province.

For his part, Archbishop Leopoldo Gielli expressed his impression at the development, landscapes and people of Thua Thien - Hue , hoping that the province would continue maintaining and promoting the cultural traditions and historical values of the ancient capital of Hue , which was recognised by UNESCO as a world cultural heritage.

The Vatican representative acknowledged the local authorities’ care for the Catholic Church’s activities over the past time as well as the role and responsibility of the Hue Archbishop in promoting the fine relationship between the church and the authorities.

He expressed his hope that the provincial leaders will continue providing favourable conditions for religious dignitaries and followers./.
