Hanoi (VNA) –
Vice President Dang Thi Ngoc Thinh has sent a letter to the inventor of theso-called “rice ATM” to praise his creativity that helps those in disadvantagedcircumstances during the pandemic.

In the letter to HoangTuan Anh, director of the PHG Lock company in Ho Chi Minh City, the VicePresident said his rice ATM project has had a good ripple effect, persuadinghundreds of people to donate several dozen tonnes of rice, thus helpingthousands of needy people amid the pandemic.

The model has beenmultiplied across the country, from Hanoi, Hoa Binh in the north, to Da Nang,Hue, Binh Dinh, Binh Thuan, Khanh Hoa, Dak Lak in the central region, to CanTho, Ca Mau in the south.

Vice President Thinhstressed that millions of organisations and individuals in and outside the countryhave responded to the call of Party General Secretary and President Nguyen PhuTrong, instructions of Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc and a campaign launchedby the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee to contribute to the fight againstthe COVID-19 pandemic through many useful ideas and good deeds.

She affirmed thebelief that with the people’s unity and solidarity with the Party and State, Vietnamwill overcome the present difficult period and win over the pandemic.

The Vice Presidentwelcomed and commended the work of Hoang Tuan Anh and all the compassionate andbrave deeds of the people in the fight against the pandemic, leaving no onebehind./.
