Quang Ninh (VNA) – A Côte d’Ivoire delegation led by National Assembly Vice President Diawara Mamadou visited the northern coastal province of Quang Ninh and paid a courtesy call to local authorities on June 16.

Acting Chairman of the provincial People's Committee Cao Tuong Huy briefed his guests on Quang Ninh’s socio-economic development and business climate.

Huy said he hopes to see more cooperation and development activities between the province and Côte d’Ivoire in the time to come.

Mamadou expressed his wish to learn from Vietnam’s experiences and foster stronger relations shared between the nations.

He affirmed that after the visit to Vietnam, the delegation will promote the Southeast Asian country’s people and landscapes to international friends.

Côte d'Ivoire highly values its cooperative ties with Vietnam and wants to secure more joint work in the purchase of agricultural machinery within the countries’ cooperation in agriculture, Mamadou said.

The delegation then toured Ha Long Bay, a popular local travel destination which was named a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1994 and recognised for its outstanding geological and geomorphological value by the World Heritage Committee in 2000./.
