Hanoi (VNA) – Vice President Dang Thi Ngoc Thinhwill lead a Vietnamese delegation to the Global Summit of Women (GSW) andconduct bilateral activities in Australia from April 22-28, said the ForeignMinistry’s spokesperson Le Thi Thu Hang.

The visit will be made at the invitation of GSW President IreneNatividad, she said.

Themed “Women: Creating Economies of Shared Value”, thesummit underscored the importance of globalisation, inclusive development,economic connectivity expansion in which women’s role and contributions arehighlighted.

The GSW is an important forum to promote gender equality,enhance economic empowerment for women, create opportunities for cooperationconnectivity and expansion, and uphold women’s role in each economy and theworld.

The Vice President is due to deliver a speech at the openingceremony, meet participating guests as well as leaders of Australia and the statesof Victoria and New South Wales. She will visit several economic and educationestablishments, and meet overseas Vietnamese and businesses in the country.-VNA

NA endorses 10% preferential tax rate for all press agencies

To affirm the Party and State’s commitment to supporting the press, the NA Standing Committee has adopted the government’s proposal to apply a uniform preferential corporate tax rate of 10% to all types of press. This move aligns with the current tax incentives for print newspapers.
