Vice State President Nguyen Thi Doan has highlighted the efforts of the Central Highlands province of Dak Nong to improve its people’s living conditions during her working visit to the province on August 18 and 19.
She said the provincial agencies, ministries and branches should pay more attention to AO/dioxin victims and families, adding Agent Orange/dioxin victims were the most disadvantaged people.
She also presented gifts to 15 AO victims and 10 outstanding poor students, each worth 3 million VND, and a 10 million VND scholarship to Tay ethnic student Nong Thi Tam who had passed entrance exams for two universities despite her difficult family situation.
Also on this occasion, Vice President Doan presented the title of Hero of the People’s Armed Forces to the Dak Nong Police in recognition of their efforts to maintain social security and order, thus contributing to provincial socio-economic development./.
