Hanoi (VNA) – The VietFood, Beverage andProfessional Packing Machines (VietFood & Beverage – ProPack) internationalexhibition kicked off in Hanoi on November 7.

The event is held at the same time with anexhibition on food & beverage processing and packaging technology andequipment and the launch of an e-exchange on clean agricultural products andfood, www.gcaeco.vn.

Trinh Xuan Tuan, Deputy General Director of theVietnam National Trade Fair & Advertising Company (Vinexad), said variousproducts are being displayed by some 250 businesses from 12 countries such asthe Republic of Korea, Thailand, Malaysia, Romania, Spain and South Africa.

Up to 67 percent of the products on show areprocessed food, farm produce, food additives, beverage and packagedconfectionery. Others include processing and packaging machines, packages, andbakery production equipment.

Tuan said this is the only exhibition of thefood and beverage industry in Hanoi where his firm focuses on promoting linksbetween international brands with importers and distributors. It aims toconnect Vietnamese export products with foreign buyers and help populariseorganic farm produce in the public.

Notably, Vietnamese firms not only showcasetheir key products like milk, coffee, pepper and salangane nest but alsointroduce a variety of pharmaceutical materials, traditional spices and frozenseafood.

According to a report of the market researchfirm Euromonitor, Vietnam’s food and beverage industry is attracting foreigninvestors as the country holds numerous advantages like a stable politicalsystem, a young population, abundant raw materials, and a dynamic consumptionmarket.

The exhibition at the Hanoi International ExhibitionCentre, No. 91 Tran Hung Dao street, will last through November 10.-VNA

Regarding the ongoing negotiations on a Reciprocal Trade Agreement between the two countries, he emphasised that Vietnam remains consistent in its approach to the talks with the US, aiming for a bilateral agreement based on respect for sovereignty, independence, political system, harmonisation and balance of interests, as well as in line with international commitments and the development level of each country.
