The national flag carrier Vietnam Airlines has announced to reopen incoming and outgoing flights to Pleiku city in the Central Highlands province of Gia Lai during March 15 and March 22.
During the period, the airline conducts 38 flights using ATR 73 aircraft on the route between Pleiku and Hanoi, Da Nang, and Ho Chi Minh City.
Earlier, Vietnam Airlines announced the temporary suspension of flights to and from Pleiku from March 15 to October 25 due to scheduled expansion work on the Pleiku airport.
The Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam (CAAV) began upgrades to the Pleiku Airport in the Central Highlands province of Gia Lai on September 28, 2014. According to the master plan, the airport’s runway, taxiway, hangers and other facilities will be upgraded and expanded to the west.
The project is scheduled to be completed in 2015.-VNA
