The national flag carrier Vietnam Airlines has announced plans to increase its flights to meet the expected rise in demand from passengers during the Reunification Day (April 30) and May Day.
The carrier has scheduled an extra 434 flights, equivalent to 57,900 seats per day on both domestic and international routes, up 22 percent compared to normal days and 5 percent year-on-year.
Among 391 additional departures on domestic routes, there will be 87 flights between Hanoi and Da Nang city, 75 from HCM City to Da Nang and 18 from northern Hai Phong city to Da Nang for the central city’s Sixth International Fireworks Competition taking place from April 29–30.
The numbers of flights connecting Hanoi and HCM City to Phu Quoc Island , Da Lat city in Lam Dong province, Pleiku city in Gia Lai province, Nha Trang city in Khanh Hoa province have also increased.
On international routes, Vietnam Airlines will offer an extra 43 flights from Hanoi and HCM City to Bangkok, Singapore and Hong Kong.-VNA
