Vietnam hopes that US businesses will continue to cooperate with their Vietnamese counterparts to further boost trade ties between the two countries, President Truong Tan Sang has said.
Sang expressed his wishes on March 13 in Hanoi at a reception for President of the US-Vietnam Business Council Alexander Feldman, who is heading a delegation of leading US firms on a working visit to Vietnam .
Sang affirmed that Vietnam pays special attention to trade ties with the US, adding that the country will create favourable conditions for US enterprises to do effective business in Vietnam.
If US projects fall behind schedule, the two sides need to strengthen exchanges to solve the problems, the State leader added.
Feldman said that his side’s firms will increase trade promotion activities in Vietnam in the areas of machine and equipment supply, expressing his wish that the host country will create conditions for investors to reap successes.
Highly valuing the host country’s potential in mining and energy, the guest touched upon difficulties in the investment process. He said he hoped the two sides will coordinate with each other to solve any pending issues and drive the implementation of ongoing projects.
The US official moved on to discuss the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) Agreement, affirming that his side is willing to cooperate with Vietnam to finalise the negotiations.
He thanked the Vietnamese side for supporting US enterprises’ business activities in Vietnam.-VNA
