Vietnam attends Asian business summit in Japan

The summit saw the attendance of leaders of business organisations from 11 Asian countries.

Speaking at the event, Japanese Minister of Foreign Affairs KoichiroGenba stressed that Japan wishes to boost regional economiccooperation and considers domestic demands of Asian countries its ownneeds.

Participants called for strengthening regionaleconomic cooperation towards a sustainable growth and affirmed supportfor efforts to reach agreements, including the trans-Pacific PartnershipAgreement (TPP).

They also discussed issues relatingto energy, environment, response to natural disasters, infrastructuredevelopment and financial cooperation.

President of theJapan Federation of Economic Organisations Hiromasa Yonekura said theAsian business community should boost economic cooperation and create amore favourable business environment in order to achieve a sustainableand balanced growth in Asia.

The third Asian Business Summit will be held in Thailand next year./.

Vietnam's tourism sector faces labour shortage

A 2026 survey by Hoteljob.vn found that nearly 90% of tourism businesses planned to recruit. In Ho Chi Minh City alone, 89.7% of businesses were hiring, while 71.8% said recruitment was difficult or very difficult. The biggest shortages were among frontline workers, particularly in housekeeping, engineering, food service, front-office operations, and kitchens.
