New Delhi (VNA) – DeputyMinister of Industry and Trade Cao Quoc Hung has suggested India back fourASEAN members, namely Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar and Vietnam (CLMV), via itsinvestment in manufacturing, services, infrastructure, inter-regional trade,technical training and capacity improvement.

He made the suggestion at thefourth India-CLMV business conclave held in Jaipur city, the Indian state ofRajasthan, on February 27.

Hung updated participants about Vietnam’seconomy and its integration into the world over the past years as well as tiesbetween Vietnam and India.

In order to push forward thesustainable development of Vietnam-India, and India-CLMV economic and tradelinks, Hung suggested strengthening bilateral transport connectivity andtrade-services liberalisation, further enhancing cooperation within theASEAN-India framework via establishing ASEAN-India trade and investment centre,continuing India-CLMV collaboration as part of a 100-million-USD credit packagethat India has committed to CLMV, identifying specific cooperative areas andincreasing the sharing of experience in State management, exchange of expertsand training.

Minister of State for the Indian Ministryof Commerce and Industry Nirmalan Sitharaman, for her part, said ASEAN is oneof the pillars in the “Act East” policy of India and bilateral ties with CLMV areappreciated, especially in engineering, renewable energy, agriculture and skilldevelopment.

She said Vietnam and India holdgreat potential of collaboration in diverse areas, including in garment, farmproduce and pharmaceuticals.

The host highlighted India’sstrength in engineering and garment and affirmed that the forum providesbusinesses a chance to seek partnership and investment opportunities.

The two-day conclave, co-hosted bythe Confederation of Indian Industry and the Indian Ministry of Commerce andIndustry, focused its discussions on engineering, construction, agro- fisheriesand related sectors, skill development, energy conservation, renewable energyand electricity.

It also featured three sessionson cooperation with Cambodia, Myanmar and Vietnam.-VNA

Fitch Ratings affirms Northern Power Corporation at ‘BB+’ with stable outlook

The rating reflects EVNNPC’s standalone credit profile of ‘BB+’, which is on par with both parent company EVN and Vietnam’s sovereign rating of ‘BB+/Stable’. Fitch said the alignment of EVNNPC’s rating with EVN’s reflects the state-owned parent’s full ownership and the high likelihood of government support, consistent with Fitch’s Parent and Subsidiary Linkage Rating Criteria.

Bad debt settlement fully benefits from new policy from H2 2026
