Vietnam attends pharma and healthcare exhibition in India

Vietnam joined 119 countries and territories worldwide to attend the International Exhibition of Pharma and Healthcare (iPHEX) which kicked off in India on May 8.

New Delhi (VNA) – Vietnam joined 119 countries and territories worldwideto attend the International Exhibition of Pharma and Healthcare (iPHEX) whichkicked off in India on May 8.

Twenty Vietnamese companies brought to the exhibition their latest products,technologies in pharmaceutical production as well as medical equipment.

According to General Secretary of the Vietnam Pharmaceutical CompaniesAssociation Tran Thi Thu, the Vietnamese delegation’s participation in theevent aims to study the market as well as seek business opportunities withIndian firms and other foreign partners.

India is a large market that poses huge potential to cooperate, she noted.

At the exhibition, Indian Minister of Commerce and Industry Suresh Prabhuunderlined that the Indian Government is working to bolster shipment ofpharmaceutical products to foreign markets.

Indian pharmaceutical sector is estimated to account for 3.1-3.6 percent of theglobal pharmaceutical industry in value terms, and 10 percent in volume term. Thecountry is believed to be the largest provider of generic drugs globally withthe Indian generics making up of 20 percent of the global exports in terms ofvolume.

In the framework of the exhibition, which is billed as one of the largestshowcase of Indian pharmaceutical products and technologies to a globalaudience, there will be seminar on development strategy for Indianpharmaceuticals, market opportunities, and meetings between experts andmanagers to share information and seek business cooperation.

The exhibition will run until May 10.-VNA

Vietnam moves toward universal free annual health checkups from 2026

Every Vietnamese citizen from 2026 onward will be entitled to at least one free annual medical checkup or screening. Each individual will also have a digital health record integrated into the national digital identification platform VNeID, enabling authorities and healthcare providers to manage health data in a synchronised and continuous manner.

Ho Chi Minh City rolls out electronic health records on digital citizen app

Under the plan, each resident will be assigned a unique EHR linked to their personal identification number, ensuring accuracy and consistency while minimising duplication and data discrepancies. Health data will be continuously updated from medical facilities, routine check-ups, and screening programmes, then integrated and centrally displayed on the application.
