Vietnam attends UN talks on nuclear weapons ban

Ambassador Nguyen Phuong Nga, head of the permanent representative of Vietnam to the UN is attending negotiations on a treaty to outlaw nuclear weapon in New York from March 27-31.

Addressing the event on March 28, Ambassador Nga expressed her concerns aboutthe threat of nuclear weapons to peace and security.

The diplomat affirmed Vietnam’s consistent stance and commitments to international efforts to eliminate nuclear weapons comprehensively and thoroughly.

She also called upon nuclear weapon countries to implement their commitments tonuclear disarmament, ensure no nuclear warfares and respect nuclear weapon free zones.

The negotiations gathered representatives from over 120 countries, international and non-governmental organisations.-VNA
