Hanoi (VNA) –A Vietnamese delegation attended an online meeting of the InternationalMilitary Sports Council (CISM) in Asia, which was held on June 29.

It was led by ColonelBui Hong Quang, Deputy Director of the Department of Military Training underthe General Staff of the Vietnam People’s Army.

In his openingremarks, CISM President Colonel Hervé Piccirillo said the ravaging COVID-19pandemic poses a major challenge to the holding of military sports, adding thatthe organisation will stay in touch with member nations to devise a suitableplan in the coming time.

Delegates cast votesonline to elect Colonel Mohammad Rezaul Karim of the Bangladesh Armed Forces torepresent CISM Asia at the Board of Director.

Outcomes of thevirtual meeting will be delivered at the 76th General Assembly of the CISM,slated for June 30 (Vietnam time).

Halong Bay Heritage Marathon 2026 expected to attract 18,000 runners

Competitors will race in the 42.195 km marathon, 21.0975 km half marathon, 10 km and 5 km events. Starting and finishing at the Quang Ninh Planning, Fair and Exhibition Palace, the course will once again feature fully closed roads along Ha Long Bay, a route named by Runner's World UK among the world's 50 most scenic running courses.
