Vietnam welcomed more than 2.35 million international visitors in the first ten months of this year, an 18.8-fold rise from the same period in 2021, but a sheer plunge of 83.7 per cent compared with the pre-pandemic level in 2019, according to the General Statistics Office (GSO).
The GSO reported that the number of foreign visitors in October increased by 12.1 per cent from the previous month.
Of the 2.35 million visitors, up to 88.8 per cent travelled to Vietnam by air, up 24.9 times against the same period last year, the GSO said.
The Asia was the largest source of tourists, with 1.6 million visitors, up 15.5 times compared to last year’s first ten months.
The number of European visitors increased by 27.3 times to 323,600 while there were 260,800 visitors from Americas, up 60.4 times. 106,300 visitors from Oceania, up 108.1 times. And 7,900 visitors from Africa, up seven times./.
