Vietnam-Brazil trade exceeds 2 billion USD

Two-way trade between Vietnam and Brazil hit a record 2.33 billion USD in 2013.
Two-way trade between Vietnam and Brazil hit a record 2.33 billion USD in 2013, representing a year-on-year rise of 42.3 percent.

According to the Brazilian Ministry of Development, Industry and Foreign Trade, Vietnam exported 1.14 billion USD worth of goods to Brazil while importing commodities worth 1.19 billion USD to the Latin American country, up 39.6 and 45 percent respectively.

Vietnam mainly shipped phone appliances, footwear, frozen fillets, printers, yarn and rubber to Brazil. Its major import items from the country included soybean, maize, cotton, iron, steel and tobacco.

The ministry said trade between the two countries has constantly increased since 2000, from over 109 million USD in 2005 to more than 1 billion USD in 2011.-VNA
