President Truong Tan Sang met visiting Bulgarian Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Simeon Dyankov in Hanoi on October 19, expressing his belief that the visit will contribute to strengthening the traditional friendship and multifaceted cooperation between the two countries.
Sang said Vietnam always treasures the support that Bulgarian people and government have given to the country, especially in training thousands of officials and workers.
Speaking highly of the positive development of the bilateral ties between the two countries during the past, Sang said Vietnam hopes to welcome Bulgarian President in early 2013, which will be an important event in the relations between Vietnam and Bulgaria .
Sang also asked for Bulgaria’s support in boosting ties between Vietnam and the European Union (EU), especially in the ratification of a partnership and cooperation agreement with the EU, the negotiations on a free trade agreement with the union and the recognition of Vietnam ’s market economy.
Vietnam is willing to serve as a bridge for Bulgaria to strengthen ties with ASEAN member countries, he said.
For his part, Dyankov briefed his host on the results of the cooperation between the two sides in education and training, culture and transportation.
According to the Deputy PM, many Bulgarian businesses are interested in the Vietnamese market and hope for favourable conditions to come to the country. They will make fact-finding tours to Vietnam in at an early date to seek for cooperation opportunities.-VNA
