Vietnam, Bulgaria widen bilateral ties

Vietnamese and Bulgarian PMs held talks in Hanoi on April 7 to discuss measures to boost cooperation in all fields.

Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dungand his visiting Bulgarian counterpart, Plamen Vasilve Oresharski, heldtalks in Hanoi on April 7 to discuss detailed measures to boostcooperation in all fields between the two countries.

PM Dungwelcomed Oresharski’s official visit to Vietnam, describing it as animportant milestone to bolster both sides’ traditional friendship andmultifaceted cooperation in the future.

He thanked the Bulgarianpeople for their support and help in the past as well as at the presentwhile affirming that Vietnam always attaches importance to developingties with the Eastern European country.

Hailing Vietnam’sachievements in recent years, PM Oresharski said his country considersVietnam as its strategic partner in the region and will spare no effortto unceasingly develop the relationship with the Southeast Asian nation.

BothPMs agreed to enhance their bilateral connection in all fields,especially economics, trade, investment, science, education, culture,tourism and security-defence, while implementing the Vietnam-Bulgarianew cooperation model, deepening and widening the bilateral ties towardsthe future strategic partnership.

They stressed the need to facilitate firms and investors’ bids to seek partners and do business.

Theyexpressed their pleasure with the close coordination between the twocountries at international forums and agreed to increase links in thefield.

They shared the view that disputes in the East Sea shouldbe solved by peaceful measures, based on international law, includingthe 1982 UN Convention on the Law of the Sea.

PM Oresharskiinvited PM Dung to pay an official visit to Bulgaria and the latteraccepted the invitation with pleasure. The date will be arranged throughdiplomatic channels.

After the talks, the two PMs held a jointpress briefing and witnessed the signing of a number of documents onbilateral cooperation.-VNA

Vietnam seeks early signing of trade deal with EFTA

Vietnam, Laos strengthen border defence friendship

At Border Marker No. 460, the two defence ministers jointly took part in the traditional ceremony of repainting the marker. Beyond its symbolic significance, the ceremony reflected the determination of the two Parties, States and armed forces to safeguard every marker of national sovereignty, preserve the achievements of border demarcation and marker planting, and develop the Vietnam–Laos border into a symbol of peace, stability, cooperation and development.
