Cambodian scholars and analysts agreed that the 14th National Congress of the CPV will play an important role in defining Vietnam’s development path over the next five years and beyond, highlighting renewed thinking marked by innovation, groundbreaking approaches and creativity, alongside long-term strategic goals.
AKP highlighted the strong support of the Vietnamese people, volunteer soldiers, as well as the Party and State of Vietnam during the fight against the brutal Pol Pot regime.
State President Luong Cuong stressed the importance of further strengthening political trust, stepping up delegation exchanges and high-level contacts, and closely coordinating in defence and security cooperation, while proposing that both sides work together to widely disseminate the historical significance of bilateral relations among younger generations.

The plan seeks to proactively and effectively carry out the commitments outlined in the agreement, with a focus on facilitating access to preferential import tariffs for goods originating from each country. General Secretary Lam and CPP President Hun Sen informed each other about the situation of each Party and country; exchanged views on regional and international developments, relations between the two Parties and countries, and issues of mutual concern. They also reviewed and assessed the results of bilateral cooperation, and agreed on key directions to further deepen the relationship.
Cambodia would never forget the tremendous sacrifice and wholehearted support of Vietnam’s volunteer soldiers, as well as the Vietnamese Party, State, and people in liberating Cambodia from the genocidal Pol Pot regime in 1979. Such assistance enabled Cambodia to recover and prosper, said Cambodian NA President Khuon Sudary.
The ninth Political Consultation between the foreign ministries of Vietnam and Cambodia was held in Hanoi on July 17.
