Vietnam-Canada business forum held in British Columbia province

Ottawa (VNA) – A delegation of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee and Consul General of Vietnam inVancouver Nguyen Quang Trung on June 27 organised the Vietnam - Canada Business Forum whichattracted more than 100 participants.

The event is one of theactivities within the framework of the celebration of the 50th anniversary of the establishment ofdiplomatic relations between Vietnam and Canada, and aims to strengthen therelationship between Ho Chi Minh City and Vancouver, and between the city andBritish Columbia.

Vice Chairman of the committee Vo Van Hoan said that economic,trade, and investment relations between Ho Chi Minh City and Canada havestrongly developed but yet to commensurate with its potential, especially inthe context as Vietnam and Canada are members of the Comprehensive andProgressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP).

He called on Canadianinvestors to pay attention to the areas that the city is prioritising such assupporting industry, high technology, ecological industrial parks, greenenergy, health care, and education.

British Columbia province'sMinister of State for Trade Jagrup Brar spoke highly of the dynamism of Vietnam'seconomy and the role of Ho Chi Minh City.

Participantsdiscussed market connections for businesses, measures for trade promotion,especially for aquaculture products, furniture, the supply chain for Canadianrestaurants, and tourism./.

Vietnam has 17 inland container ports

Vietnam now has 17 inland container depots (IDCs) across 12 provinces and centrally-governed cities. IDCs form a crucial part of the country’s transportation infrastructure network. They serve as key logistics hubs, supporting the operations of seaports, airports, inland waterway ports, railway stations, and border checkpoints, while also functioning as customs clearance sites for imports and exports.
