Vietnam, China raise public awareness of laws in border areas

Lang Son (VNA) - Chi Ma border gate's border guard station and Chi Lang border guard stationin Loc Binh district in Vietnam's northern province of Lang Son and China’s Ningming border management unit held talks and raised awareness of lawsfor residents in border areas on April 11.

The two sides informed each other about thesituation of border protection and management and discussed border controlactivities, including fighting illegal entry-exit and smuggling across the shared border.

They instructed people on how to check border markers anddirections, as well as violations of land border management and protectionregulations between Vietnam and China.

The activity aimed to raisepublic awareness of legal enforcement in border areas, enhance bilateralcooperation in fighting violations of border sovereignty, illegal entry-exit, cross-border crimes,contributing to the building of a border of peace, friendship, cooperationand development./.

Vietnam, US hold 169th repatriation ceremony for American MIA servicemen

At the ceremony, Vietnam handed over four boxes containing remains recovered during recent joint excavations in Hue city, and Quang Tri and Kon Tum provinces. Preliminary forensic analysis on April 15 suggested the remains may belong to US MIAs and they will be sent to Hawaii for further identification.

Second government legislation meeting reviews draft bills
