Hanoi (VNA) – Vietnam on April 28 reported 3,094 new COVID-19 cases – the highest recorded in a day in the past over six months, according to the Ministry of Health.
Since the pandemic broke out in the country in early 2020, the country has reported over 11,557,969 cases. Among the total infections, 10,620,576 were given the all-clear, while 43,188 died of the disease.
To date, the country has administered 266,207,930 doses of vaccines against COVID-19.
As the number of COVID-19 infections in Vietnam has continuously increased recently, the Ministry of Health has kept asking localities to speed up vaccination for people in high-risk groups.
Health experts recommend people, besides getting enough COVID-19 vaccine doses, need to comply with disease prevention and control measures, such as wearing masks and disinfection, especially during the Hung Kings death anniversary, National Reunification and May Day holidays./.
