Vietnam sailed through to the finals in the men’s volleyball competition at the 28th Southeast Asian Games in Singapore after downing Myanmar 3-0 in the semifinals on June 6.
The Vietnamese team faced resistance from the Burmese side in the first set as the match was neck-in-neck and the two teams fought for every point, but Vietnam came out strong to close the set at 25-21.
The second and third sets were a bit easier for Vietnam, who won 25-17 and 25-21 respectively.
Vietnam will take on Thailand in the final on June 15. Thailand also beat Indonesia 3-0 in the previous semifinal match.-VNA
