Vietnam and the Czech Republic committed to working together in combating drug, trans-national, cyber and human trafficking crimes at the talks between their senior officials in Prague on July 7.

Minister of Public Security Tran Dai Quang and Czech Minister of Interior Milan Chovanec agreed to continue talks so as to soon sign agreements on crime prevention, extradition and judicial assistance while coordinating efforts to ensure security and safety, and boost trade and investment as well.

Both countries will also work together to ensure legitimate rights and interests of their respective citizens and diplomatic representative agencies.

Quang told the media later that he is satisfied with the outcomes of the talks given they will serve as a solid foundation to propel ties between the two ministries forward in the interest of the two people.

At the Vietnamese embassy earlier, Quang updated the staffers with the latest developments in the East Sea and Vietnam’s stance to settle the dispute since China illegally installed its oil rig Haiyang Shiyou – 981 in Vietnam’s continental shelf and exclusive economic zone.

Meeting with the Vietnamese community, the minister affirmed that the Party and State always strive to help them integrate into the host society.

He hailed the community for being recognised by the Czech government as the 14th ethnic minority group, saying that it is a recognition of their positive contributions to the country.-VNA
