Vietnam, Czech firms sign MoU on cyber security cooperation

– The Vietnam Posts andTelecommunications Group (VNPT) and the Novicom Company of the Czech Republichave signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on cyber security cooperation.

The Mou was signed by VNPT DeputyGeneral Director To Manh Cuong and Novicom Sales Manager Jindrich Savel inPrague on April 14 within the framework of an official visit to the CzechRepublic by a high-ranking delegation from the Vietnamese National Assembly ledby its Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan.

Speaking at the signing ceremony, VietnameseMinister of Information and Communications Truong Minh Tuan said strengthening bilateralcooperation in information and communication technology (ICT) was one of theimportant contents in the NA delegation’s agenda during its visit to the CzechRepublic.

He highlighted the ICT development in Vietnam,saying that the Government of Vietnam identified that sector as a key drivingforce for national development and modernisation, thus enhancing the nation’scompetitiveness and international integration.

The Ministry of Information and Communications hasworked with relevant bodies to complete the legal corridor on informationsecurity while cooperating with organisations, associations and enterprises andcommunity to ensure sustainable development of information security, Tuan said.

For his part, Bohussalav Chalupa, a member ofthe Czech Parliament, said the Czech Republic is willing to share with Vietnamits experience in the sector, including procedures to build legal documents andenhance education-training related to information security.-VNA
