
Hanoi (VNA) – The Czech Republic will continue assisting Vietnam todevelop its education, affirmed President of the Committee on Science,Education, Culture, Youth and Sport under the Chamber of Deputies of the CzechRepublic Vaclav Klaus.
He made thepledge at his meeting with Phan Thanh Binh, head of the Vietnamese NationalAssembly’s Committee for Culture, Education, Youth, Adolescents and Children inHanoi on June 5.
He affirmedthat in spite of differences in the political system, the two countries’education holds numerous similarities, like more than 90 percent of schools inthe Czech Republic being owned by the State.
Heappreciated learning performances of Asian students, including those fromVietnam, in his country.
Binh, inturn, introduced the guest to the educational development process in Vietnam.After 20 years integrating into the international community, Vietnam’seducation has made basic reforms, meeting requirements of the ongoing globalisation.
He confirmedthat the Vietnamese legislature has paid attention to investing in education asthe country always considers education as a top national policy.
He took theoccasion to thank the Czech Republic for assisting Vietnam in numerous fields,particularly education, in the past and at present. In recent years, the CzechRepublic has received many Vietnamese students and postgraduates.
TheVietnamese official expressed his hope that the two countries will cooperatemore closely in this field.-VNA
