Vietnam, DPRK to screen existing treaties

Vietnam and the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea signed on Oct. 7 a protocol to screen the validity of international treaties and agreements they signed in the 1950-2007 period.
Vietnam and the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) signed on Oct. 7 a protocol to screen the validity of international treaties and agreements they signed in the 1950-2007 period.

The protocol will help enhance the effectiveness of the two countries’ cooperation as it provides a legal basis for relevant agencies to examine and make recommendations for extending, revising, supplementing, or re-signing the treaties and agreements that are no longer appropriate.

Signatories of the protocol were Deputy Foreign Minister Ho Xuan Son and DPRK Ambassador to Vietnam Ma Chol Su./.
