Two-way trade between Vietnam and Ecuador reached 659 million USD in 2014, a year on year record increase of 83 percent, according to statistics released by the Central Bank of Ecuador.
The Latin-American country exported goods worth 625 million USD to Vietnam, up 93 percent, and imported about 33.9 million USD, down 9 percent.
Vietnam shipped to Ecuador mainly data processing devices, smart phones, fishing net and footwear while importing marine products, mainly frozen shrimps.
Trade between the two countries rose sharply in recent years, from 16.5 million USD in 2010 to 172.4 million USD in 2012 and 360.7 million USD in 2013.-VNA
