Tokyo (VNA) – The second Vietnam festival in Japan’s Kanagawa Prefecture (Vietnam Festa in Kanagawa 2016) will take place in its coastal capital Yokohama from October 28 to 30.
The news was released at a press conference in Kanagawa on June 20, which highlighted that the event marks the expansion of cultural exchanges between Vietnam and Japan, beyond Tokyo to different parts of Japan.
Vietnamese Ambassador to Japan Nguyen Quoc Cuong said the festival would boost mutual understanding and open up opportunities to form new partnerships.
The Vietnam Festa 2016 will feature various performances by Vietnamese artists and musicians as well as 100 stalls showcasing food, handicrafts and specialties of Vietnamese localities.
It is expected to draw more than 400,000 visitors.
The first Vietnam Festa in Kanagawa in 2015 rounded off with a huge success, giving a boost to both bilateral trade and tourism. Following a soar in the number of local businesses investing in the northern province of Hung Yen, Kanagawa’s authorities have decided to establish an industrial park in the Vietnamese province.-VNA
