Hanoi (VNA) – Vietnam’s national men’s football team rose four places in the latest FIFA rankings to No. 130 in the world and second in the Southeast Asian region, behind the Philippines.

Vietnam beat Cambodia 2-1 in the qualifying round of the Asian Cup 2019 in early September, winning the team 10 more points to bring its total to 241 in the final rankings.

Meanwhile, Thailand, which lost 1-2 to Australia, dropped seven places to the world’s No. 137.

The Philippines still topped the region, although they tied 2-2 with Yemen in the Asian Cup qualifiers.-VNA
