Vietnam, France promote cooperation between parliamentarian groups

Hanoi (VNA) – The Vietnam-France and France-Vietnam Friendship ParliamentariansGroups held talks Hanoi on July 17 to discuss ways to foster cooperationbetween the two sides.

Welcoming thevisit of Stephanie Do, President of the France-Vietnam FriendshipParliamentarians Group, and her accompanying delegation, President of theVietnam-France Friendship Parliamentarians Group Nguyen Thuy Anh recalled her fine memory ofg the official visit to France of the high-leveldelegation from the National Assembly of Vietnam in April, and thanked the French side for the warm welcome.

The relationsbetween Vietnam and France are growing strong, particularly since the twocountries established a strategic partnership in 2013, said Anh, who is alsoChairwoman of the NA Committee for Social Affairs. Vietnam always treasuredties with France and hopes the two sides would further deepen their cooperationso as to produce more effective results, she added.

Do, for herpart, said her group stands ready to exchange experience with Vietnam NA’sbodies and parliamentarians in a bid to contribute to promoting relationshipbetween the two legislatures.

The two sidesagreed it is neccessary to strengthen the partnership between Vietnam andFrance for the benefit of both countries. They reached consensus to make efforts to deepen the strategicpartnership, reinforce political trust and increase high-level delegationexchanges. They will alsobolster cooperation in different areas and between localities; expandpeople-to-people exchanges;and work together more closely to address regional and international issues ofmutual concern.

Anh voiced herhope that the two countries would continue connecting and supporting businessesin gaining broader access to each other’s market in the coming time. Shewelcomed and pledged to create all possible conditions forFrench enterprises to participate in projects in Vietnam, especially in thefields of infrastructure development, clean energy, renewable energy, smartcity, and healthcare, amongothers.

On the sameday, the France-Vietnam Friendship Parliamentarians Group had a working sessionwith the NA Committee for Culture, Education, Youth, Adolescents and Children.–VNA

US Ambassador awarded Friendship Order

Vietnam seeks stronger partnership with Singapore

The Deputy PM expressed his hope that Lee will continue to support efforts to further advance Vietnam–Singapore relations in a more practical and effective manner, as well as provide advice and share experience in developing financial centres and promoting connectivity between the two countries’ international financial centres.
