Quang Nam (VNA) –
Nguyen Dinh Khang, President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour (VGCL), on November 4 handed over 1 billion VND (43,190 USD) to residents affected by Storm Molave in central Quang Nam province.

On this occasion, 500 million VND has also been given to VGCL members who have been hit by the storm.

The same day, the VGCL delegation presented 20 million VND to the Quang Nam General Hospital, and relief aid to the residents who were injured in a landslide Ta Leng commune, Nam Tra My district, and are being treated at the hospital.

Extending his sympathies over storm-triggered losses to local residents and labourers, Khang expressed his hope that they will soon overcome the difficulties and soon stabilise their lives.

Since late September, 235 people in the central region have been listed as dead or missing from storms and floods, which have also caused estimated economic losses of about 17 trillion VND, according to a Government report to the National Assembly on November 2./.
