Hanoi (VNA) – Vo Tuan Nhan, Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Committee for Science, Technology and Environment, has expressed hope for more cooperation between Vietnam and Germany in natural resources and the environment.

In a meeting with MP Klaus Mindrup, head of a visiting delegation from the German Ministry for the Environment , Nature Conservation, Building and Nuclear Safety (BMUB) , Nhan also said he hopes the two sides will cooperate in law-building and boost the implementation of law on environmental protection.

He continued to say that because of the global urgency of climate change, Vietnam has been revising its national strategies on climate change and green growth in order to reduce greenhouse gas emission.

Klaus Mindrup said he is pleased with intensified environmental cooperation between Vietnam and Germany, saying that the BMUB and the Vietnamese Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment signed an agreement on cooperation in climate and environment protection.

The two sides also discussed environmental issues like minimising environmental pollution, climate change adaptation and mitigation.-VNA
