Vietnam, Germany step up cooperation via Party channel

A delegation of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) led by Le Quoc Minh, member of the CPV Central Committee and deputy head of its Commission for Information and Education, have attended the fourth policy dialogue between the CPV and Germany's left-wing Die Linke Party and visited the European country from September 4-9.

Berlin (VNA) – A delegation of theCommunist Party of Vietnam (CPV) led by Le Quoc Minh, member of the CPV CentralCommittee and deputy head of its Commission for Information and Education, haveattended the fourth policy dialogue between the CPV and Germany's left-wing DieLinke Party and visited the European country from December 4-9.

Minh, who is also Editor-in-Chief of Nhan Dan (ThePeople) Newspaper and Chairman of the Vietnam Journalists’ Association,co-chaired the dialogue, during which the two sides briefed each other on thesituation of the two Parties and countries.

They praised the policy dialogue mechanism,which, they said, has contributed to enhancing the relationship between the twocountries through the Party channel, and making the bilateral strategicpartnership more intensive, stable and substantive.

On this occasion, Minh met with secretary general ofthe German party Tobias Bank, and held in-depth discussions with leaders of theRosa Luxemburg Foundation and the Fraunhofer Institute for Wind Energy SystemsIWES.

At these meetings, he affirmed Vietnam’s consistentpolicy of independence, self-reliance, peace, friendship, cooperation,development, and multilateralisation and diversification of foreign relations,stressing Vietnam attaches importance to its strategic partnership with Germanyand regards the country as a top partner in the European Union (EU).

Vietnam also treasures and wishes to strengthen itstraditional friendship and cooperation between the two Parties, he added.

The Germanofficials agreed on measures to enhance the friendship and cooperation betweenthe two Parties, as well as their coordination at multilateral political partyforums, for peace, the sake of people, justice and social progress.

Within the framework of the visit, Minh and hisentourage learned about industrial transformation in Sachsen-Anhalt and met withthe vice president of the state parliament, and had a working session withrepresentatives from Lausitz and Central-German Mining AdministrationCompany./.

Resolution adjusting 2025 socio-economic development plan adopted

Under the resolution, the legislative body decided to adjust some key targets. Accordingly, the gross domestic product (GDP) growth rate is set to reach 8% or higher, with the GDP scale this year expected to exceed 500 billion USD. NA greenlights investment policy of Lao Cai – Hanoi – Hai Phong rail project

According to the resolution, the construction of a modern and harmonious railway aims to meet the transport demand between Vietnam and China. The initiative is expected to serve as a catalyst for rapid and sustainable economic development along the Lao Cai-Hanoi-Hai Phong economic corridor while strengthening national defence and security and promoting the industrialisation and modernisation, contributing to delivering on the targets and missions set at the documents of the 13th National Party Congress and the Party’s resolutions.

NA deputies to approve several resolutions, laws on February 19

The deputies will pass a resolution addressing issues related to the streamlining of the political system’s organisational apparatus, a resolution on supplementation to the 2025 socio-economic development plan with a growth target of at least 8%, and another on pilot policies to remove barriers in science-technology research and innovation activities.
