A three-million-USD boarding school funded by the Government of Vietnam was handed over to Laos ' Xieng Khouang province at a ceremony on September 9.
Addressing the event, which was jointly held by the Ministry of Education and Training (MET) and Laos ’ Ministry of Education and Sports (MES), MET Deputy Minister Pham Manh Hung said the school includes a laboratory, canteen, multifunctional hall, school headquarters, a dormitory and other amenities.
It helps improve educational infrastructure in Laos and enhance the friendship between the two countries, he added.
Governor of Xieng Khouang province Somkot Mangnomek and MES Deputy Minister Kongsi Sengmani thanked the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) as well as the Vietnamese State and its people for their help given to the Lao education sector over the past decades.
The facilities funded by Vietnam drive the current and future development of its neighbouring country, added the two Lao officials.-VNA
