Deputy Minister of Defence, Senior Lieutenant General Do Ba Ty, received the visiting head of the Royal Dutch Navy, Vice-Admiral Mathieu Borsboom on Mar. 5 in Hanoi.
At the reception, General Ty who is also Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People’s Army said Vice-Admiral Mathieu Borsboom’s visit highlights the Memorandum of Understanding on cooperating in defence between both countries. It deepens the understanding and trust between the two navies in particular.
Ty said he was delighted with the outcome of the discussions between naval staff from both countries, particularly the cooperation in personnel training, maritime security, ship building and other related issues.
Vice-Admiral Borsboom said he was pleased to visit Vietnam and thanked his Vietnamese contemporaries for the warm welcome during his short stay.-VNA
