HCM City (VNA) - Vietnam’s best fashion designers and their international counterparts will show their collections in the third Vietnam International Fashion Week.

Nguyen Cong Tri, Hoang Minh Ha, Thuy Nguyen, Le Thanh Hoa, Ly Giam Tien and other Vietnamese designers will appear with designers from France, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, and the UK during a fashion party for 20 designers on April 23-26.

After two seasons, the fashion week will now be presented twice a year.

The spring – summer season show will be held in HCM City this month. The autumn – winter show will be held in Hanoi in October.

Le Thi Quynh Trang, president of Vietnam International Fashion Week, said that Vietnam’s fashion industry has become closer to the global standard.

“Fashion week has become very popular. People are beginning to wear clothes designed by popular fashion designers,” Trang said.

“The fashion industry changes quickly. Several fashion brands have begun introducing their designs for four seasons. That’s the reason we’ve organised the spring – summer and autumn – winter seasons in one year,” Trang said.

In preparation for the Vietnam International Fashion Week Spring – Summer 2016, organisers began hiring models for the fashion party on April 5 at Crescent Mall and at The Garden Trading Centre in Hanoi.

The fashion week will be opened by designer Nguyen Cong Tri, who will present his “No.9: Lua” (Paddy) collection displayed recently during the Asian Fashion Meets Tokyo show. His collection features 41 creations inspired by the rice paddy and by the traditional values of the Vietnamese people.-VNA
