Hanoi (VNA) - Vietnam is in Group A at the Asian FutsalChampionship 2018, according to an announcement by the Asian FootballConfederation (AFC) on December 12.

The 2016 World Cup participants are toplay Malaysia, Bahrain and hosts Chinese Taipei.

Group Bwill include Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Japan and theRepublic of Korea. Group C includes 11-timewinner Iran, Iraq, China and Myanmar. In Group D Thailandwill meet Kyrgyzstan, Lebanon and Jordan.

Theopening match will be held on February 1, 2018 while the final is scheduled for10 days later.

Twoteams who rank first and second in their group will advance to thequarter-finals.

Vietnameseplayers will be summoned later this month and train in Ho Chi Minh City.

They areexpected to have a short practice course and two friendly matchesin Japan ahead of the competition.

Theywill leave for Chinese Taipei on January 15.-VNA

Photo exhibition highlights Vietnam–Israel cultural ties
