The Vietnam-India IT and Foreign Language Centre was inaugurated in Nha Trang city in central Khanh Hoa province on April 6.
Located inside the city’s Telecommunications University (TCU), the centre was set up under a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed between the Vietnamese and Indian governments in October 2014. Its goal is to develop high-quality human resources in the fields and meet the demand for building the Vietnam People’s Army.
The building cost amounted to 18 billion VND (833,000 USD), half of which was sourced from non-refundable Indian aid.
Once it is fully operational, the centre will offer training courses for TCU lecturers and students and pilot an English teaching model offering relevant national and international certificates.
Speaking at the centre’s inauguration ceremony, Indian Ambassador to Vietnam Preeti Saran said the establishment reflects the enhanced relations between the two countries.
India will send teaching staff to the centre to help train Vietnamese teachers and students, said the diplomat.-VNA
