Located inside the city’s Telecommunications University (TCU), thecentre was set up under a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signedbetween the Vietnamese and Indian governments in October 2014. Its goalis to develop high-quality human resources in the fields and meet thedemand for building the Vietnam People’s Army.
The building cost amounted to 18 billion VND (833,000 USD), half of which was sourced from non-refundable Indian aid.
Once it is fully operational, the centre will offer training coursesfor TCU lecturers and students and pilot an English teaching modeloffering relevant national and international certificates.
Speaking at the centre’s inauguration ceremony, Indian Ambassador toVietnam Preeti Saran said the establishment reflects the enhancedrelations between the two countries.
India will send teaching staff to the centre to help train Vietnamese teachers and students, said the diplomat.-VNA
