Vietnamese and Indonesian peoples should be pleased at the twocountries’ relations which are prospering and expanding in numerousareas, said an Indonesian diplomat.
Speaking at aceremony to mark the 65 th anniversary of Indonesian National Day(August 17) in Ho Chi Minh City on August 19, Indonesian acting ConsulGeneral in HCM City Dalton Sambiring said Vietnam and Indonesia haveorganised a number of senior officials’ meetings, and increasedsocio-economic cooperation, cultural exchange and humanitarianactivities.
Vietnam and Indonesia have supported each other at both regional and international frameworks, he said.
On behalf of the Union of Friendship Organisations and theVietnam-Indonesia HCM City Friendship Association (VIHFA), Le Thanh Ton,VIHFA Vice Chairman extended his congratulations over the National Dayto Indonesian people, stressing that Vietnam always considersIndonesia a strategic partner.
He also thanked Indonesia for its support to Vietnam in both bilateral and multilateral aspects.
Vietnam desires that Indonesia continue its support, especiallywith Vietnam assuming the Chairs of ASEAN and AseanInter-Parliamentary Assembly (AIPA) 2010, he said.
The two sides shared viewpoints that both Vietnam and Indonesianeed to continue to expand and raise relations to a higher level tomatch the two countries’ development potential./.
