Hanoi (VNA) – Deputy Foreign Minister Nguyen QuocCuong stated that Vietnam treasures developing friendship and multifacetedcooperation with Iran, during talks with Iran’s Vice Minister of Foreign AffairsMorteza Sarmadi in Hanoi on March 11.

Cuong expressed his delight at the positive development ofbilateral ties over the past few years and suggested facilitating all-levelvisits and working closely together at regional and global forums.

Sarmadi, who is in Vietnam for an official visit from March 10-13, spoke highly ofVietnam’s socio-economic achievements and improving stature in SoutheastAsia and the world.

He wished to foster cooperation with Vietnam, especially ineconomy and trade.

Both sides discussed measures to lift Vietnam-Iran ties to agreater height, thus meeting the aspirations of the two countries’ leaders andpeople.

On the occasion, the guest invited Deputy FM Cuong to Iran toattend the seventh Vietnam-Iran political consultation. –VNA
